Context/Comments
An elegant and well preserved five-bay Federal Style galleried cottage. Since its construction c.1822, "Fair Oaks" has achieved local prominence as the residence of several important families of the fashionable Second Creek neighborhood six miles south of Natchez. In addition, the house is notable for its sophisticated, well-calculated and skillfully joined interior woodwork, including its wainscotted gallery and its dining room punkah.

This house was listed on the National Register on 13 November 1976, with 11.4 acres of land.
