The Lauderdale County Courthouse was originally built in 1905 under the direction of Penn J. Krouse and C.L. Hutchisson, architects, of Meridian. It was remodeled in 1939 under the direction of P.J. Krouse & L.L. Brasfield. It is listed on the National Register as a contributing element (element #123) in the Downtown Meridian Historic District, which was placed on the Register in 2007. The building was designated a Mississippi Landmark in 1999. This building is included in "Buildings of Mississippi" (2020) (pp. 213-214, EM7). |
