This fifteen-story building was built in 1949-50 to serve as a state office building. It is clad in Indiana limestone accented with metal sculptural panels representing magnolia blossoms. It was designated a Mississippi Landmark on 14 April 2019. This building is included in "Jackson Landmarks" (1982) (pp. 68-69) and is mentioned in "Buildings of Mississippi" (2020) (p. 240, at the end of the listing for the Mississippi State Capitol, JM16). |
