Designed by R.H. Hunt & Company, Galloway Memorial Methodist Church is a handsome Neoclassical auditorium-plan church with an integral octastyle portico. It was built from 1913 to 1915 and was dedicated in 1917. It was named in memory of Bishop Charles Betts Galloway (1849-1909). The chapel wing was added in 1953. The church is listed as a contributing element (element #15) in the in the Smith Park Architectural District, which was placed on the National Register on 23 March 1976.
